  • Where is the nearest train station?
    We are the only University in the country to have our own train station: University station, which is two stops from New Street station - the main, central station for Birmingham.  University station is at the West Gate of the University: see our contact us page for a map of where the station is in relation to the Conference Park and all of our other venues.
  • What train do I get on to get to the University Station?
    Trains heading for Redditch and Longbridge stop at University station and so do many long distance trains - but check the signs in New Street station to be certain.
     
  • What is the walking route from University station to the Conference Park?
    The Conference Park is on the perimeter of the campus between the North and East Gates and is fully signposted from the campus: we've also got the walking route marked on our location map on the contact us page.  The walk typically takes around 20 minutes.
  • What time is check in and check out at the Conference Park?
    Check in is from 2:00pm  (from 4:00pm on a Sunday) and check out is by 10:00am (by 11:00 on a Sunday)  You can also get a 12:00 noon check out with a small supplement.
     
  • Is there a 24 hour reception at the Conference Park?
    Yes.  The University campus operates on regular business hours Mon-Fri unless by prior arrangement.
     
  • Is there free car parking?
    Yes: if you are staying in Conference Park accommodation or attending an event or conference at the Conference Park then car parking is free.
     
  • Are there any family rooms?
    No: but we can arrange for families to have rooms in close proximity. Children under 2 years stay free of charge for in cots in a parnets room. Cots can be provided upon request and will need to be confirmed.
     
  • How far is the Conference Park from the city centre? - is it feasible to visit the city if I am staying at the Conference Park?
    Yes: the City Centre is a 10 minute car or taxi journey from the Conference Park.
  • What bus do I need to catch from the city centre?
    The 61 and the 63 stop on Bristol Road outside the University.
     
  • What usable out-door space is available?
    There are many spaces available on campus for outdoor events and many can accommodate marquees: call the venuebirmingham team on 0121 415 8400 for more information.
     
  • Can we accommodate summer schools?

  • What is our DDR? ("daily delegate rate")
    From £30 on the Edgbaston campus, but there are many other options available: call the venuebirmingham team on 0121 415 8400 for more information.
     
  • What is our environmental policy?
    As part of the University of Birmingham we implement the same Environmental Policy.
     
  • Is external catering allowed?
    No: we have a wide variety of catering services available.  However, if you are booking a wedding in the Great Hall we do have a number of specialist, alternative suppliers that can cater for your special occassion: see the weddings pages for more information.
     
  • Do you have any press and PR photos available?
    Yes: we have a specific Flickr set of images for press and PR purposes.
